Catholic Friendship Club (CFC)
Catholic Friendship Club (CFC) is a junior youth group for grades 5 – 7 and involves some prayer and learning, supper and games and activities. We had a great year last year with many fun activities. We had a visit from Sr Mary Lawson, a Mercy Sister, who spoke of her journey to become a nun and the work being done by the Mercy Sisters in Cambodia. From this talk we decided we wanted to help and so our main activity for the year became a bike-a-thon to raise funds for bikes for poor families in Cambodia. This was very successful with many bicycles being purchased in Cambodia. Also throughout the year we had an outing to Moogerah Dam for the Passion Play, had a trivia night and lots of fun together. This year we hope to again attend the Passion Play, have a bush walk and meet often to pray and learn about our faith. The Club operates: Fortnightly on Friday nights from 6:15 – 8:00. at Sacred Heart Parish Centre. Consent and medical information forms need to be filled in on the first night. All children must be signed in and out at the beginning and the end of the evening. $2 each night for supper and supplies. Group leaders hold a current blue card or equivalent.
